Federal Healthcare Exchange Insurance Plans
- IMPORTANT INFORMATION -
**FEDERAL HEALTHCARE EXCHANGE INSURANCE PLANS**
December 8, 2016
Effective January 1, 2017 - Piedmont Cancer Institute will NOT be participating with ANY federal healthcare exchange market insurance plans. We had hoped to have great news and be participating in the Kaiser Permanente Federal Healthcare Exchange plan, however, Kaiser Permanente has, unfortunately, decided to keep oncology within their Kaiser clinics, ending negotiations.
There is one plan that was on the federal healthcare market for 2016 that is now off the federal healthcare exchange market for 2017 that is sold directly to consumers that Piedmont Cancer Institute and Piedmont Healthcare are participating with and that is Harken Compass which utilizes the United Healthcare network. Our understanding is that Harken Compass is a HMO plan and a referral must be obtained by your primary care physician before you can be seen at our practice. Please verify that there is no pre-existing condition clause/rider in your contract as stated under #1 below.
We know time is limited for you to sign up to have benefits active in January and we will help you in any way we can. You can reach the billing department directly at 678-298-3227.
