About Me: Q&A
Why Oncology?
I always liked oncology because I felt like I could follow a person throughout their care - the highs and the lows - but also you see the patients so frequently you start to get involved with the whole family. It's a field of medicine where you truly get to holistically treat the patient, not just one specific problem.
What is the best part of your job?
Getting to be apart of the little successes, even if it is just an improvement in one blood count number.
What is it like working with your PCI doctors?
I can honestly say, out of all of the doctors that I have worked with, PCI doctors have the best bedside manner and they take the time to write out diagnoses and treatment plans.
If you could spend the day with anyone dead or alive (no relatives), who would it be and what would you do?
St. Francis de Sales. He is the bishop that my college DeSales was based after. His main philosophy was "Be who you are and be that well." which I love because it focuses more on a gentle teaching of patience and kindness. I would want him to follow me on my day to day and make little adjustments on my everyday life teaching me how to be a better version of myself.
