About Me: Q&A
Why Oncology?
While in nursing school, I thought I wanted to do ICU, however my last semester of school I did a rotation in oncology and fell in love. My entire 7-year nursing career had been in the oncology field doing inpatient medical oncology and hospice, outpatient infusion and oncology clinical research. So naturally once finishing NP school, after gaining a little experience in primary care, I set my sights on outpatient oncology, and I just cannot see myself doing anything else. The patients are so appreciative of the care we give and as a devout Christian and spiritual person, I feel that I get to be a vessel of God's love and offer hope every day to my patients.
What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is seeing patients from diagnosis to remission. Seeing the joy in their and their family's faces when they complete treatment and get those scans showing no evidence of disease makes the hard times worth it.
What is it like to work with Drs. Tran, Lohiya and Mininberg?
Working with these docs make my job easier than it would be without them. I ask a lot of questions and they never make me feel bad about it. They love to teach me, and I soak up every bit of knowledge they are willing to share. I appreciate them and I'm pretty sure I entertain them with my antics.
If you could spend the day with anyone dead or alive (no relatives), who would it be and what would you do?
Absolutely with NO second thought it would be Jesus! Sounds cliché but I would literally just like to walk with Him and be in His presence.
